About The Area
The picturesque market town of Ross-on-Wye, just a couple of miles from Paddocks Farm, is often called the "Gateway to the Wye Valley". Overlooking the River Wye, it located between the cities of Hereford and Gloucester. Hereford is approximately 18 miles north of Paddocks Farm while Gloucester is about the same distance to the East. In addition to the conurbations rural Hertfordshire is known for some of the most beautiful scenery in the country.
Approximately 7 miles away is Symonds Yat famous for its spectacular views from Yat Rock. This village is divided in two by the river Wye. Above the village is Yat Rock which at 500ft offers a great view of the river and the surrounding countryside. It is also popular with bird watchers as it is often possible to see Peregrine Falcons during the summer.
